How many sessions will I need?
That will depend on each individual and their situation. We usually start with an assessment (2-3 sessions) and from there, plan your treatment. Based on what you want to work on, the treatment can be short-term (6-8 sessions) or longer term.
What therapeutic modalities are your psychologists trained in?
Some of the modalities our psychologists are trained in, include:
Play therapy
Creative Expressive Arts Therapy
Sandplay therapy
Ego State Therapy and Internal Family Systems
Family and Systemic Therapy
Ericksonian Hypnotherapy
Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT)
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
Regardless of the modality we use, our aim will be to create a space in which you feel safe, heard, and supported. This will help us to do work that is useful and meaningful for you.
Are your psychologists registered with ACC?
Some of our psychologists are ACC registered. We can provide assessments as well targeted treatment to children, adolescents and adults who have experienced sexual trauma. This is directly fully subsided and will not incur any costs to you.
What does therapy cost?
This would depend on what your individual needs are. Our 50-minute sessions are $170 (+GST). If you are submitting a claim under ACC criteria, this is subsidized.
Can I have therapy online?
Whilst in-person therapy is recommended, we understand that it is not always possible. Whatever your circumstances, we will find a solution that accommodates your needs
